How the connection works

From the medium-voltage grid to the charger

The grid connection runs via the transfer station at the grid connection point. The transformer converts the medium voltage to the low-voltage level of the charging hub (usually 400 V).

At high simultaneity a buffer storage pays off: it covers load peaks from the battery, so the connection power the grid operator must provide – and thus the connection charge – drops.

Charging-hub grid connection – in brief

As a guide, the sum of the charge points times a simultaneity factor. A hub with 8×150 kW HPC lands at around 800–1,200 kVA depending on simultaneity. We size it precisely.

Often yes: the storage shaves peaks, lowers the required connection power and thus the connection charge – and buffers weak grid connections.

The medium-voltage connection follows VDE-AR-N 4110 and the grid operator's TAB. With feed-back (BESS) a power-plant controller is also required.

Compact stations under 10 m² require no permit in any German state. International sites we check separately.
